Reincarnation has been a concept formed since the era of 800 B.C, in India. Regression is the process used to explain the progress of the finding the subjects past life. The idea of living before is a concept some people refuse to comprehend. On the other hand many people not only believe that we have lived before but it has a large influence on our current day life.

People often link regression to that of finding out our childhood. Regression can also be used in that case of finding what is hidden in the centre recesses of our minds. Here, in the core of our subconscious, the memories from our past lives can be recovered. Those that have undergone regression don't actually recollect their past lives as 'memories', as such, but as sensations and emotions. Visual status can be achieved but often there are no sounds or smell.

Reincarnation is an idea upheld by many religions, cultures and their leaders. The Hindus, Buddhists, some Christian and Jewish communities regard the idea of reincarnation highly. Although currently westernized cultures are less acceptant towards reincarnation than those of the eastern. Reference to reincarnation within the Christian religion can be located in the 3rd Testament. Reincarnation can be found in the Hebrew mystical writings of the Kabbalah. The Hebrew word 'gigul' is derived from a verb meaning 'turning in a circle' which explains the process one must go through to live 'again'. The leadership of the Hasidic, within the Jewish community, is passed on from father to son. This tradition functions on the fact of the soul of a previous person often returns as his own great- grandchild. The possibilities that a soul may return the to that of the living is caused if their 'previous' were cut short.

The Egyptians, Druids, Native Americans in North America, Philosophers from Greece proclaim the concept of past lives in their writings. You can find references of reincarnation in Plato and Pythagoras Scriptures. One idea conceived by the Greeks was the concept of metempsychosis. Metempsychosis is a belief within the evolution of life throughout numerous amounts of life forms. Here, one could begin life in mineral form, progress to animal form and finally evolve into human form. Once a life has reached human form they can maintain that form for the rest of their incarnations. This last stage is known as Transmigration.
